Gardaí continuing to question man over firearm incident



Gardaí in Limerick are continuing to question a man in his 40s in connection with an incident in which another man was shot in the Ballinacurra Weston area of the city yesterday afternoon.

The injured man, who is in his 30s, is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The incident happened at Crecora Avenue shortly after 4pm yesterday.

It is believed to be related to an ongoing dispute in the area.

The injured man was taken to University Hospital Limerick, where he is being treated.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí conducted a technical examination at the scene of the shooting.

Detectives from Roxboro Road Garda station are questioning the man who was arrested under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
