Forensic teams to examine Dublin park in search for man

Gardaí investigating the disappearance of an Icelandic man in Dublin five years ago are to carry out a forensic examination of a section of a public park today.

The 41-year-old left the Bonnington Hotel on the Swords Road in Whitehall at around 11am on 9 February 2019.

He was last seen a short time later walking past the entrance to Highfield Hospital and heading in the direction of the Collins Avenue junction.

An area at Santry Demesne Regional Park was cordoned off yesterday as a potential crime scene after cadaver dogs reacted to a scent in the ground.
