Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis to see focus on housing and Gaza

Issues such as housing, support for small businesses and expanding access to health services are likely to dominate the agenda at the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis in Dublin.

The Ard Fheis continues today, with over 1,500 members expected to attend the event.

In his opening speech to members last night, Tánaiste and Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin said the party could be proud of its record in Government.

He said Fianna Fáil had helped deliver more houses during its four years in power, compared to the previous nine years.

Mr Martin said that Fianna Fáil will be looking ahead to the next four to five years during the Ard Fheis.

The event will also see a focus on the cost of living and the crisis in Gaza.

Speaking yesterday, the Tánaiste criticised the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland Dana Erlich, who likened recognition of Palestinian statehood to rewarding terrorism.

He described the comments as “absurd and unacceptable”.

Mr Martin’s address to the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis gets under way at 6:30pm this evening and will be broadcast live on RTÉ One television, the RTÉ News channel and RTÉ social media platforms.
