An investigation is under way after the body of a young boy was discovered in a car in Co Waterford.
The boy’s body was found in the Dunmore East area shortly after midnight.
He is believed to be around six years old.
A woman was arrested near the scene and is being detained at a garda station in Waterford, where she can be questioned for up to 24 hours
Medical attention as required is also being made available to the woman while in custody.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the State Pathologist’s Office has been informed.
