Bacik makes Labour leader’s address at conference

Labour leader Ivana Bacik is delivering her televised leader’s address at her party’s annual conference at the Helix in Dublin City University.

In her keynote speech tonight, party leader Ivana Bacik will focus her attention on housing, migration and climate action.

The annual conference is taking place just two and a half months before the local and European elections on 7 June and with a general election due within the next year.

Earlier today, she described the housing crisis as the “civil rights issue of our generation”.

In a short speech during a housing motions’ discussion on the first day of the conference, Deputy Bacik said addressing housing must be a priority.
