Aer Lingus to end Dublin-Gatwick service from April

Aer Lingus is to end its service between Dublin Airport and London’s Gatwick Airport at the end of March.

The airline currently operates multiple daily services between the airports, as well as additional flights on the weekend.

However it said that, “following a review of route performance”, it had decided to end cease operations on the Dublin-Gatwick service.

A spokesperson said that no other routes would be terminated following the review.

They also confirmed that the decision would not have any impact on staff numbers at the airline.

In a statement Aer Lingus said customers who were booked on a Dublin-Gatwick flight from 1st April onwards would be contacted shortly.

They would be given the option of an alternative flight, or a refund if they prefer.

Aer Lingus said customers booked on the route up to and including 31st March will not be impacted by the decision.
