27 candidates to contest Midlands North West constituency

The field of candidates contesting the Midlands North West constituency has narrowed slightly, with the withdrawal of one of those seeking election.

Carolyn Fahy was the only person to withdraw their candidacy before today’s midday deadline.

She had initially declared as a representative of the Party for Animal Welfare.

Her decision means that 27 people will contest the race for the five European Parliament seats up for grabs, in the country’s largest constituency.

Polling takes place on Friday 7 June.
